LAUGHING ABOUT NOTHING is a Portland, Oregon–based punk / power pop band recognized for their high-impact live performances and sharp, melody-driven songwriting.
Formed by Andy (guitar) and Margaret (vocals) after a chance meeting in Spain in 2021, the project took full shape following their relocation to Portland in 2024, with the addition of Colby (bass) and Cole (drums). Since then, the band has quickly established a presence in the Pacific Northwest, building momentum through a series of single releases and consistently energetic live shows.
On April 10, 2026, Laughing About Nothing released their debut full-length album, TIDES. The record blends urgency and atmosphere, drawing from both classic power pop sensibilities and the raw edge of punk, while channeling the restless spirit of the Pacific Northwest. TIDES has been met with strong audience reception and continues to gain traction across the regional scene.
Known for their explosive stage presence and tight, emotionally charged performances, the band has earned a growing reputation within Portland's emerging music community. Their ability to balance immediacy with melodic precision positions them as a compelling new voice in the contemporary power pop landscape.
With a rapidly expanding fanbase and a clear artistic identity, Laughing About Nothing is poised for continued growth both regionally and beyond.
